! $$ Search engine optimization (SEO) $$ !

! $$ Search engine optimization (SEO) $$ !

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it "ranks," the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimizing a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines.

The acronym "SEO" can also refer to "search engine optimizers," a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house. Search engine optimizers may offer SEO as a stand-alone service or as a part of a broader marketing campaign. Because effective SEO may require changes to the HTML source code of a site, SEO tactics may be incorporated into web site development and design. The term "search engine friendly" may be used to describe web site designs, menus, content management systems and shopping carts that are easy to optimize.

Another class of techniques, known as black hat SEO or Spamdexing, use methods such as link farms and keyword stuffing that degrade both the relevance of search results and the user-experience of search engines. Search engines look for sites that employ these techniques in order to remove them from their indices.

The entire SEO setup has really been very low profile and hasn’t been given the attention it deserves. If not for SEO, the search engines would not have existed. Nearly 80% of internet traffic today begins at a search engine. Everyone search their favorite and most wanted articles and information through search engines.

The SEO industry is certainly growing and going places. Today, the industry is getting its due credit and recognition by the industry. According to many experts, many people use search engines for simple navigation. In such a scenario we very well come to know the importance of search engines in today’s world.

Search engines are here to stay. However, there was a time when people did not know much about search engines. Thus, the industry has grown bigger and is still growing. This is where AD Age came into the picture, brought into notice the basic function of SEO and taken it to everyone’s attention. In the process, it has also given SEO the due credit that it deserves for bringing such a revolution in the search engine industry.

ESL (English as a second language), ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) and EFL (English as a foreign language) all refer to the use or study of English by speakers of other languages. The precise usage, including the different use of the terms ESL and ESOL in different countries, is described below. These terms are most commonly used in relation to teaching and learning English, but they may also be used in relation to demographic information.
ELT (English language teaching) is a widely-used teacher-centred term, as in the English language teaching divisions of large publishing houses, ELT training, etc. The abbreviations TESL (teaching English as a second language), TESOL (teaching English for speakers of other languages) and TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) are all also used.
Other terms used in this field include EAL (English as an additional language), ESD (English as a second dialect), EIL (English as an international language), ELF (English as a Lingua franca), ESP (English for special purposes, or English for specific purposes), EAP (English for academic purposes), and ELL (English language learner). A somewhat similar term, LEP (Limited English Proficiency), is also used in this field.
